Intentional Ink: A Sims Writers' Co-op

Here's all the background information, as well as technical details. As far as I go, I am not a modder, but I have been playing The Sims since the beginning. I remember when my Sims used to wave at me when they were in distress or needed something.

Sims

All surnames honor horror authors. Each member of the co-op/grant either wants to be a Best-Selling Author or an Old-School Scribe (writing for the fame or writing because they must; mod used linked below). They all have degrees of varying appropriateness, and some met each other in college.
A huge part of the challenge is to learn how to live together with different personality traits, and to support each other rather than compete. Drama mods are installed. Two of the five have mental health challenges; mods used linked below. One of the five is a chatterbox, which has been found to be an immediate challenge for the other four as soon as I turned on the game.

The Members of Intentional Ink, the Grant Collective

From left to right, Silas Shelley (he/him; named for Mary Shelley), Lila Jackson (she/her; named for Shirley Jackson), Ethan Dahl (they/them; named for Roald Dahl), Queen Cupcake Poe (named for Edgar Allan Poe), my SimSelf Clara King (she/her; named for Stephen King), and Genesis Lee (she/her; named for Tanith Lee).

Queen Cupcake Poe

One pet: a robust ragdoll named Queen Cupcake Poe. She belongs to everyone. If asked, no one can really say where she got her name...it almost feels like she named herself...but that's silly talk...isn't it? Or is it? She just showed up in the living room during the moving in process, and there she was, the co-op cat. She has become a great stabilizier and stress relief for all of the writers in different ways, and serves almost as a house mother to this strange fraternity of writers.

Traits:
  • Affectionate
  • Lazy
  • Clever

Yes, I accidentally made Tori Amos, so I went with it and gave her the Reddest. Hair. Possible.

Story Rules and Boundaries

  1. I only control Clara. Whatever the other four Sims (and the cat) do in the background will happen.
  2. The house is a historical landmark. No changes can be made to the walls and floors. Hanging pictures and such must be kept to a minimum. When fireplace is lit, someone must be present in the room.
  3. Clara is in charge of bills and household maintenance, as well as the grant's funds.
  4. Lot challenge: Spooky
  5. Each person is tasked with publishing something and advancing in their particular writing career path while living under the grant money in this house, or they have to move out. Time period to be determined--my time or Sim time?
  6. Romance between roommates is allowed.
