That Bible Verse in Us

You know I love to dive deep into the smallest details, especially when they involve 1. horror and 2. literature. So I just had to know the significance of that Bible verse held up by the drifter in Jordan Peele’s movie Us as soon as I made it home from the theater.

Here’s the King James Version:

Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them. — Jeremiah 11

#latergram from seeing Us at @alamocville — nearly the only people in the theatre (love midday horror movies for the ambiance of a large, dark room that should be full) and the first outing for my new classic Chucks—first new shoes in years, colors picked by my best friend and husband. #usthemovie #horror #horrormovies #alamodrafthouse #bluechucktaylors 💙 #chucktaylors #newshoes #converse #lowkeystyle #bringonmorejordanpeele
