As you know, I play the Sims to relax and to hone my storytelling skills. See Sims mods posts, especially Disability and chronic illness inclusion mods for The Sims. Well, I have decided to start playing online as part of the podcast. Specifically one certain storyline. I have created a writer's commune nicknamed "Intentional Ink". The backstory is that these five friends, with varying degrees in communication, language and literature, and psychology (that would be my SimSelf), applied for and received a grant to live together in this historic home in Brindleton Bay in order to focus on their writing. But will they be able to look past their differences in personality and the needs of daily domestic living in order to achieve their separate and unified publication dreams?

My one rule is that I will only be controlling Clara Poe, my SimSelf. Clara because I have always liked that my name anagrams to another name, and Poe because he's the first author I read on the podcast. The other four, who also have the last names of horror authors, will be given their best chance to succeed with fine careers, robust bank accounts thanks to the grant, and full personalities. But just like real life, I can only control my own reactions. Let the mayhem begin.

For now, I will reveal that two members of the household, including myself, identify as she/her. two as he/him, and one as they/them. The group also has one rather beastly heterochromatic rag doll cat, that I rolled the dice to name, and, I kid you not, the game chose "Queen Cupcake". It's meant to be. Half the group wants to be commercial best-selling authors, the other dreams just to write.

I chose a stately brick home built by modern Lazer_Cream, and I was the first one to download this house; I consider that a good omen. The lot's address is, in honor of my first producer Ellie Mae the dachshund, Dachshund's Creek, Cavalier's Cove, Brindleton Bay. Here's the amazing view of the lighthouse from the roof of the home, should anyone have the nerve to clamber up there.

The home, being on the historic registry, may be haunted, and so its lot challenge is Spooky. Its lot attributes are Beach House, Fast Internet (a must for hard-working writers), Home Studio, Sunny Aspect (for those night owl creative juices), and Historic. Its beginning value, before the residents begin to furnish it with their grant money, is 53,068 simoleons. It's 30x20, 3 bedroom, 2 bath.

I am in the process of learning how to record my gameplay (easier than I thought). Tomorrow I'll share everyone's photos and profiles, and after that, a home tour. This is will be a fun addition to the podcast as I build up its video side and post video versions of episodes, I think. Plus, I'll really enjoy highlighting the incredibly talented modelers in the Sims community that I am using to enhance my gameplay and ux. I love pointing out people shining at their craft.

My EA account is CarlaCupcakes. Please feel free to add me on the app and to follow me in the game's gallery. I have a couple of items I have created for download, most notably my ghost couple: Sims 4: Ghosts CC with a possible true crime mystery.

Let the game begin!
